For mental health support, the University of Lincoln offers free counselling service to all students. If you are struggling with your mental health this service can help you. Be assured that everything you discuss in your counselling sessions will be completely confidential and you will not “get in trouble” with the university. Even if your mental health problems are related to drug or alcohol use, your counsellor will respect your values, choices and lifestyle. The Counsellor’s role is to listen carefully to you and offer support and understanding in a non-judgemental, non-critical way.

This Counselling Service operates independently of the Student Union and also of the University’s academic and administrative structure. The team of Counsellors are professionally trained and widely experienced counsellors who are accustomed to helping people from many backgrounds and cultures and a wide range of personal issues and difficulties. The service runs Monday to Friday.

You can access the Counselling Service by attending an initial Wellbeing drop-in session where one of the advisors will discuss with you what counselling options are available to you and, if appropriate, they will then ask you to return to Student Wellbeing for a Counselling assessment.
